Weekly discussions about the course readings (40% of your final grade)
Each week you will be expected to make regular contributions to the course discussion area in Blackboard. If you are taking an online course because you think it will be easier than a regular course, you should probably reconsider your choice. Although this course will probably not be more time consuming than a regular course, it will not be less time consuming either, and it will definitely be more intensive in terms of the number of individual contributions you will need to make during the course of every week. It is my hope that this more intense engagement with the readings and with your fellow students (and instructor) will make this course an extremely meaningful educational experience for you. Three exams (20% each of your final grade)
Exams will be composed of three parts:
1) An objective section, consisting of a series of multiple choice questions that will be answered on Blackboard in the Exams section. 2) A quotation analysis section, in which you will analyze quotations from the texts we've read and discussed (your analyses will be submitted to the electronic drop box in Blackboard). 2) An essay section that will be submitted in the electronic drop box in Blackboard.
