Summer 2008

This online World Literature course (ENGL 201) will be conducted using a course management service called Blackboard.  Longwood will assign you a password to access Blackboard after you register for the course. Click here to access the Blackboard login page. (If you have trouble accessing Blackboard, contact the Helpdesk.) After you have successfully entered Blackboard, select the link for this course and familiarize yourself with its the various parts. Please check the FAQ if you have questions about anything.

Because Blackboard requires a password, the course lecture materials, weekly discussions, your grades, and copyrighted materials will remain private.   But other aspects of the course, such as study guides, links to research materials, and handouts do not require such protection.  You will be able to access all of these materials on Blackboard, but you can also access them without going through Blackboard by using the menu at the top of this page.

For information about online instruction at Longwood, go to: Online@Longwood University. If you have difficulty accessing Blackboard, contact Longwood's User Support Services at helpdesk@longwood.edu or by calling 434-395-4357 (toll free: 877-267-7883) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. If you have other questions about the content of the course, please contact the instructor:  Dr. Shawn Smith.

Distance learners: Several slots have been reserved for distance learners in this course. If you live outside of Farmville, and especially if you are a teacher who needs this course for certification, please contact the instructor and request an override if the class is full.
